Keith & Adonelle Dancers - Biography
Keith & Adonelle Dancers, led by Keith &
Adonelle themselves, is a team with
established recognition in the dancing arena
and who bring audiences of all kinds a
variety of dancing ranging from cabaret and
musical extracts to ballroom and latin
American, from modern to even pleasing
the country lovers.
The eight years from when the group first
introduced its potential were imbued with
ongoing successes and opportunities. This
widely due to the couple’s capability and
experience which grew stronger in the
eighteen fruitful years from when their
dancing career kicked off and which they
were able to pass on with great dedication.
Keith and Adonelle began their career in
Ballroom and Latin American dancing in which
they successfully achieved results to be
proud of, both in dancing exams as well as
in dancing competitions. The latter meant
unforgettable experiences for the couple
whereby prestigious titles like the Juniors
and Youths 10 Dance Champions, Youth
Ballroom and Latin American Champions were
amongst those accomplished. At just the age
of sixteen, they had already won two of
their most rewarding titles, being 1st in
the Latin Section of the Adults Competition
and 1st runners-up in the overall 10 Dance
Championship. Their students also have
managed to accomplish titles which made the
couple just as proud as if achieved
themselves.
The couple’s dancing career gained impetus
when they realised their dreams and competed
abroad in countries like Sicily, Holland and
Italy. Competing with over 100 immensely
talented dancers and achieving a 4th and 5th
placing has driven Keith and Adonelle to
continue moving onwards and never looking
back.
As already mentioned, their students have
also been able to follow in the couple’s
footsteps. Participating twice in the Malta
Amateur Competitions, one of their couples
became the Juveniles Latin American
Champions whilst another couple won the
Junior Latin American Championship.
Participation in other competitions is also
encouraged and Keith and Adonelle’s dancers
took part in various competitions promoting
talent achieving even here titles such as
Malta Talent Awards, Best Promising Dancers
and Best Choreography amongst others.
Besides technique and confidence, the
colourful and elegant costumes designed to
suit the particular exigencies of the
audience and activity are an important
distinguishing characteristic of the team.
Relating the dancers' performance to the
occasion is also imperative and this is done
through the careful choice of music, style
of dances and choreography.
Keith & Adonelle Dancers have performed in
various localities, tv programmes and
various other activities. They have been
regular performers in hotels during the
Summer period as well as in the Christmas
season. They have participated various times
in prominent festivals like the Malta Song
For Europe and L-Ghanja Tal-Poplu as well as
in EU Celebrations, Notte Bianca and Carnival activities.
The team also had the opportunity to work
with various artists such as Fabrizio
Faniello, Ira Losco, Lynn Chircop and
Natasha & Charlene. For two consecutive
years, Keith and Adonelle were the only selected dancers to
participate in the 12 hour marathon
organised by the Eden Foundation, a very
satisfying and intrinsically rewarding
experience. Their latest television
productions in which they were regular
dancers include 'D-Best', 'Ta' Lynn', 'BBQ',
'Happy Days', 'Kollox Sibt' and 'Il-Weekend
Jibda Hawn'. Keith & Adonelle dancers
are now the resident dancers in two television programmes, 'Sas-Sitta'
every saturday afternoon, and 'Issa C-Cans'
every sunday evening, both aired on Family
Tv.
Appearing on local TV is perceived
fundamental by the team and through this
Keith managed to gain experience even in the
production assistance and presentation of
such television programmes. This, following
his role as presenter and assistant producer
in the television programme 'Ta' Lynn'. Keith has also been responsible for
various choreographies for models during
modelling competitions & other activities.
In September 2006, Britess Salon of Fgura
chose the services of Keith & Adonelle to
create a choreography for participation in
the 2006 Goldwell Hair Awards, at Portomaso.
A team of 20 models were chosen and through
a good combination of hair styles, body
painting and dance choreography, the dance
made it from the semi-finals to the finals,
placing second overall. The team was also
awarded the title of Best Model. The
same success was achieved in Goldwell Hair
Awards of October 2007, when Keith was again
responsible to create a choreography for
Funky Shades of Zebbug. This time,
Keith was also responsible for designing the
costumes and mixing the music of the
performance.
Other
important events for Keith & Adonelle
include their participation, together with
their students, in the musicals 'Biz-Zebbug
Dejjem Haddart' (2006) and 'Ir-Rebbieh'
(2007). Keith & Adonelle have worked
various times with Bronk Productions,
including the popular christmas pantomime
'Peter Pan Ghand Wenzu U Rozi' in 2007, as
well as Keith's acting in 2008's drama 'Il-Libsa
Ta' Kristu'.
Keith and Adonelle dancers are never
satisfied with their status quo, and each year,
together with their students, they aim to
achieve even more successful results.
